The American Dream

A foreword by Jon Davito

In 1931 James Truslow Adams coined the phrase “American Dream” in his book Epic of America.

He wrote, “The American Dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.”

Adams went on to say, “It is not a dream of motor cars and high wages merely, but a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position.”

Near the mid-century mark of the 1900’s, the American Dream took on a much more materialistic feel than that of Adams’ original definition. The American Dream of the 1950’s and latter half of the 20th century was to own a home with a white-picket fence, have a car (maybe two), have 2.2 children, a dog, a cat, and a steady job that lasted until retirement.

But what is the American Dream of today? I believe the American Dream of today is still made up in part of the materialistic definition of the late 20th century which rewarded achievement and prosperity; but also incorporates much of James Truslow Adams original, idealistic postulation of opportunity & higher social order for all regardless of such “fortuitous circumstances” such as birth or position.

The American Dream of today is about opportunity and prosperity. It contains the principle that all men and women have the inherent and intrinsic right to try and to fail; to pick themselves up and try again. And the American Dream of today contains the belief that all men and women have the right not only to achieve, but to exceed in any of their chosen endeavors.

So, why am I telling you all of this? I’m telling you all of this as a prelude to one of the most amazing opportunities you may come across in your lifetime. How Do I Make $100,000 plus?

Ah, the question you’ve been asking all along and the answer you’ve been waiting for. First, we cannot guarantee anybody will make $100,000. However, we have now, and in the past, many brokers who make over $100,000 annually year after year using our system with many of them doing it in their first year. And we strongly believe that by following our formula, you can duplicate that success.

You see we know that the American Business Brokers Network system works. We have been using it for years and it has continually provided solid returns for us and our brokers. The only thing we don’t know is if you will work the system?

As a business broker you make money by earning commissions on the successful sale of businesses. Put quite simply, the more you sell, the more you earn. The typical business broker will charge anywhere from 6-12% commission on the sale of a business with the industry average being right around 10% or a minimum of $8,000 to $10,000 on the smaller sales.

That means on the sale of a $200,000 business, you could earn up to $20,000 in commission. And since you get to keep up to 70% of the commission you bring in, it doesn’t take an advanced mathematics degree to calculate just how fast you can quickly earn over $100,000. Some brokers like to work with small businesses earning the minimum and doing several transactions per year.
